american express CENTURION SPEAKEASY
Serving as a nod to the speakeasy hidden within the Amex Centurion Lounge at JFK airport, we transformed an open area of the US Open Centurion Suite into an intimate cardmember experience. Inside our contemporary library featured a world of collected histories of the people and events that have shaped NY and the US Open.
Cardmembers gained entry by pulling forward the proper Centurion book from a bookcase, triggering the shelf to disappear into the wall, revealing the entrance to the speakeasy.
Along the side wall of the library resided the Gallery of Greats, moving and still portraits featuring tennis players and moments of the game, all depicted by artists Andy Gellenberg, Alvaro Tapia, Craig Frazier, and Racquet Magazine. Guests also enjoyed cocktails served from Please Don’t Tell’s mixologist Jim Meehan, and highlighted US Open collectible artifacts.

THE CENTURION LOUNGE
As a standout design element of the main lounge, we created a custom tennis string map, using colored tennis balls to highlight the Centurion Lounges across the globe. Guests left with a cocktail kit of ingredients for the featured speakeasy cocktail, as well as a “passport” spotlighting the lounge locations.
